The vMix 28 Pro update focuses heavily on remote interaction, expanded output options, and refined audio control.
Core New Features:
* Web Telestrator & Monitor: A new input type that allows presenters to draw, annotate, and highlight directly over live video using a web browser (ideal for tablets or laptops). It also provides a low-latency video feed for remote monitoring.
* Expanded Streaming: You can now stream to up to 5 simultaneous destinations (increased from 3), taking advantage of modern GPU hardware encoding capabilities.
* Enhanced MultiView:
* MultiView 2: Doubling the number of unique MultiView outputs.
* Customization: New options to show only inputs (for confidence monitoring) and the ability to change the audio meter source from Master to a specific input or bus.
* Overlays & Stingers on Mix Inputs: You can now apply overlays and stingers directly to Mix Inputs (Mix 2–16) rather than just the main Output, allowing for much more complex sub-mixes.
* System & Application Audio: Directly capture audio from specific Windows applications or the entire system with built-in auto mix-minus.
* Flatten Layers: A new checkbox in input settings that "flattens" all 10 layers into a single entity. This makes it much easier to crop, zoom, or rotate a complex layered input all at once.
Workflow & Technical Improvements
* Playback Time Triggers: New triggers (OnPlaybackTime and OnPlaybackRemaining) to automate actions at specific moments or right before a clip ends.
* Encoder Statistics: A new tab in the Statistics window to monitor hardware encoder (NVENC) usage and performance.
* GT Designer Anchor: A new "Anchor" setting for text objects to control growth direction (e.g., expanding text from the right for lower thirds).
* Audio Bus Manager: A live-updating interface to manage all audio buses simultaneously, with an option to show all bus buttons as smaller icons in the mixer.
* Updated Protocols: Support for NDI 6 and SRT 1.5.3, along with high frame rate support for Decklink and AJA Kona X cards.
