Ekklesia

The word Church in the Sixteenth Chapter of Matthew’s Gospel is not used in the context of its present use. The word ‘Church’ in the Greek rendering is the word ‘ekklēsia’. It was not a religious term neither was it a new terminology as at when Jesus used it. It was a colloquial term used to refer to the foremost Congress of the Democracy of Ancient Grecian Empire. It was that famous Congress, accessible to every male citizen as soon as they qualified for the Grecian citizenship.

As further proof of the validity of this term and the common understanding native Grecians had of this word, this Assembly called the Ekklēsia was responsible for declaring war on enemy states, development of military strategy and presiding over the electioneering process of the Army leader known as the ‘Strategoi’ as well as other officials who were to assume leadership and ascend the places of Authority.

From every indication, the LORD Jesus was not referring to a religious or spiritual entity. HE was referring to a Governmental and Political entity capable of infiltrating the Systems of the Earth with the Culture and Standards of Heaven. Jesus’ Ekklesia refers to a Community where the love of Christ is exemplified, practical, real, and true. This Resource will:
