I’m Glad You Made it Here

I wish I could tell you this story came to me in a grand moment, like some divine burst of inspiration, a dream, or a whisper in the wind. But no. It came slowly, in fragments, like a song I couldn’t quite remember but also couldn’t ignore.

I could tell you what this book is about, but where’s the fun in that? What I will say is this: You may think you see clearly until something or someone makes you question everything. You can assume people are fine until you realize you were only looking, not seeing. And it’s far too easy to assume you have time.

But time is funny like that. It doesn’t stop to announce when you’ve hit the middle of something; the halfway point between what was and what will never be again. You only recognize it when you’re past it, when there’s no undoing, no rewinding, no second take.

I didn’t write this book because I had answers. If anything, I wrote it because I had questions.
