I began writing IGADIMMA at a time when my heart was deeply broken.

In 2023, my two best friends suddenly distanced themselves from me. One of them was even trying to turn the other against me, and for the first time in my life, I experienced something I’d never known before: a friendship breakup.

It hurt more than I could put into words. These were people I loved and wanted in my life, people I had built my world around. And yet, I found myself becoming a stranger to them. I would see one of them at school or in church, but they would walk past me as though I didn’t exist.

It was a very tough season. They never apologized, never acknowledged the pain. They just moved on as though nothing had happened and somehow expected me to do the same. But I couldn’t. My heart was shattered beyond measure, and I battled with bitterness and unforgiveness.

Around the same period, I found myself liking one of my male friends more deeply. He noticed and told me that he couldn’t be with me because I was “doing too much.” By too much, he meant I knew my purpose and was walking firmly in it.

For a moment, I considered dimming my light so he would accept me. I tried to be quieter, calmer, and less energetic around him. But the more I tried, the more I felt like I was betraying my inner child.

So I stopped.

And in stopping, I turned to writing. It was in creating IGADIMMA that I found so much comfort and confidence in being exactly who God has called me to be.

Then in 2024, another chapter of my life began to shake. A relationship I held dearly with forever in view shattered before my eyes. Slowly, I began to see it clearly for what it was; it wasn’t love, but survival, it was characterized by deep emotions, but lacked reasonable logic. And honestly, I didn’t want that for my future. Around the same time, my interests, dreams, and desires began to change in ways that shocked me. The change was massive, and sometimes I didn’t even recognize myself.

It was awkward and uncomfortable but it taught me something powerful: change is okay. As humans, we are meant to grow, and sometimes that means outgrowing people, places, and even versions of ourselves. I began to build grit, resilience, and consistency in my relationships. My heart didn’t heal overnight, but this book gave me hope. Every time I felt frustrated or doubted myself, I came here to write to leave words I knew would inspire me later.

IGADIMMA is my heartfelt confession to you my reflections on friendship, love, self-discovery, and the society we live in. It taught me that nothing is truly permanent. Some people will not stay forever in your life, and that is okay. This book is my gift to you. Read it with an open heart, expecting to leave differently than when you began.

My hope is that every poem, every quote, and every affirmation will speak directly to your soul. If IGADIMMA has touched you in any way, it would mean the world to me to hear from you. Please rate this book and feel free to drop your thoughts, reviews, or personal reflections.

Happy reading!
