We live in a changing world. Circumstances change, health changes, relationships change, finances change, plans change, and seasons change. Yet Hebrews 13:8 declares that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. JESUS THE SAME explores that truth through the life and ministry of Jesus revealed in the Gospels.
The book begins with the unchanging Christ as an anchor in a changing world. It then examines what Jesus did yesterday: healing the sick, restoring what was broken, delivering the captive, ruling over the impossible, and conquering death. The discussion then moves to what it means for believers today, including the continuing work of Christ through the Holy Spirit, prayer for healing, the reality of waiting when the expected miracle has not come, and the calling to represent the same Jesus through compassion, truth, holiness, humility and love.
The book does not present miracles as a formula. It explicitly rejects the idea that faith can control God or that every believer must receive an identical miracle. Readers are encouraged to pray boldly while trusting Christ's wisdom and sovereignty. Healing may come through immediate intervention, medicine, people, wisdom, time or other means; and when the expected outcome does not come, the absence of a particular miracle is not treated as evidence of God's absence or a person's lack of faith.
The final section turns to the resurrection and the return of Christ. The emphasis throughout is not merely on what Jesus can do, but on knowing who Jesus is. The central invitation is simple: look beyond the miracle to the Miracle Worker, anchor your life in the unchanging Christ, and keep following Him in every season.
