Copyright in Nigeria is automatic from the moment you create an original work. But automatic protection is invisible protection. Without a registered certificate from the NCC, proving that you owned a design before someone copied it is significantly harder — and in a dispute, that difficulty can cost you everything.
NCC registration through the Nigerian Copyright eRegistration System (NCeRS) gives you a dated, official, government-issued certificate that serves as prima facie evidence of your authorship and ownership. It is one of the most powerful and most underused legal tools available to Nigerian fashion designers and FLI Africa exists in part to change that.
What this service covers:

What copyright registration protects in fashion:
Original garment designs and sketches

Important note: Copyright is not the same as trademark registration. Copyright protects the specific creative expression of your work. Trademark protects your brand name and logo. Both are needed. If you are unsure which protection is right for your situation, book a free consultation first.
What happens after payment: Our team will contact you within 2 working days to collect the information and digital copies of your work needed to complete the application. Applications are processed within 60 days of submission, subject to certain conditions.

Prevailing market rate: ₦50,000 – ₦150,000 through commercial providers. FLI Africa offers this service at ₦100,000 — fully managed from submission to certificate.
