STOOL SITTERS 1(Limited edition of 5)

These works grew out of a fascination with the ordinary wooden stool and my love for nudism. I wanted to place the Black female form, with its natural curves, strength, and presence, in quiet, unapologetic poses against pure fields of color. The elongated limbs and simplified shapes are a nod to both classical sculpture and modern African modernism. This artwork explores rest, self-possession, and the beauty of the body simply existing, free of narrative or apology.
