Mentorship Session for Young Lawyers

In June 2026,  Hon. Justice J.K. Omotosho called me out in open court because of a Facebook post I wrote.

In front of a full gallery of lawyers

including a Senior Advocate.

He'd seen my posts on Facebook and wanted to know if I knew the answer.

I stood up. I cited Section 216 of the ACJA and Osareren v FRN without flinching.

He nodded.

"Thank you. That's the correct position."

It was my first ever amicus curiae moment as a young lawyer.

That didn't happen because I got lucky.

It happened because I knew certain things about litigation that Law School does not teach.

On October 17th, I'm teaching you exactly that.

— You will know how and what to say when holding brief for a senior lawyer, how to move a Motion and other applications. How to make common requests in practice while sounding confident.

WHEN YOU ARE STANDING BEFORE THE JUDGE

— You will know the exact comportment and words that tell a judge you are competent before you make your first argument

— You will know how to announce appearance so the entire courtroom remembers your name and you get new clients on your way out

— You will know how lawyers speak in turn, how to  ethically disagree with opposing counsel or the Court without annoying the judge

— You will know the basic courtroom phrases and vocabulary that make you sound like a SAN in the making

— You will learn the proper way to end your submissions in court so that it lands instead of just trailing off
