16 insults Africans throw at each other online, tested against real evidence. 16 clear verdicts. One book both men and women will argue about, then share.

“Men are trash.” “Women are gold-diggers.”

You have seen these words under every relationship video. Maybe you have typed them yourself.

But are they true?

This book takes the 16 insults at the centre of Africa’s online gender war and puts each one on trial, with real data from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. Each chapter ends with a clear verdict: True, Partly True, Mixed, No Evidence, False or Opinion.

Some verdicts will surprise you. Some will make you uncomfortable. All of them will change how you argue about men and women, online and at home.

🔥 THE 16 INSULTS ON TRIAL

What men hear:

  • “Men are trash”
  • “Men are just wallets”
  • “Men can’t be faithful”
  • “Real men don’t cry”
  • “Men are never victims”

What women hear:

  • “Women are gold-diggers”
  • “Women always marry up”
  • “Women can’t lead”
  • “Educated women are arrogant and unmarriageable”
  • “Women are their own worst enemies”
  • “Single mothers ruin children”

What hurts us all:

  • The excuses we make for violence
  • The fear on both sides (harassment and false accusations)
  • How we are raising our boys and girls

And the way out:

  • What men want women to know, and what women want men to know
  • A practical ceasefire: rules for arguing without insults

📖 WHAT MAKES THIS BOOK DIFFERENT

✅ It takes no side. It takes men’s pain and women’s pain seriously, with evidence for both.

✅ It runs on evidence, not opinion. WHO data, national health surveys, court records and research, all listed so you can check them yourself.

✅ It gives you a clear verdict. No vague “it depends”. Every chapter ends with a Verdict Box you can read in 60 seconds.

✅ It gives you the words to use. Every chapter includes “If it comes up at the table”: real replies for family gatherings, group chats and arguments with friends.

✅ It is African. Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa, not American statistics with African faces.

✍️ ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Fuseini A. Rashid Zakaria lived in Canada for over two decades, where he studied women’s history through a university course on Women in Canada. The course examined discrimination, equity and justice through the lenses of class, gender and ethnicity. That training taught him to take women’s suffering seriously. His life as an African man taught him to take men’s suffering seriously too. This book does both.

He holds an MA from the University of Ghana, a Graduate Diploma from McGill University in Canada and a BA from York University in Canada.
