THE BOOK

THE SCRAMBLED CONTINENT is a Pan-African masterpiece that appeals to the sensibilities of Africans and Pan-African sentiments. It is a book for all black Africans.

The book has more in-depth themes bearing on the socio-economic, socio-political, trado-cultural and social pathological peculiarities of Africa ever since the breakdown of the continent by colonial and capitalist forces. The Major themes which have, for years, precluded Africa from her match to greatness are the hints in the book.

The enduring quest for understanding the root cause(s) of these peculiarities has been the major preoccupation of the first-generation African patriots, scholars and thinkers alike. A similar quest had led to the formation of the Pan-African Movement in the 50s – just to frame Africa back into its mythological frame. Yet, up until the 21st Century, Africa is still where it was, nay, retrogresses down the spiral.

The Pan African sentiments and struggles by its first-generation frontiers who were on a rescue mission for the continent’s all-around liberation and reconciliation with her heritage could be seen as a chasm, a sheer illusion. That informed the birth of this book: the duration is: is Africa at where it should be

Political independence would mean that Africa’s resources were committed to the hands of Africans. Invariably, Africans’ destinies were committed to their hands from the hands of the Europeans who exploited and oppressed them for hundreds of millennia.

Such an opportunity was expected of Africa to have stolen the scene to join the league of nations. Yet, post-colonial Africa has been noted as the worst era after the slave trade, noted for a plethora of anomalies: the brain drain, poverty, destitution, social nihilism, and dysfunctional leadership paradigm. There is no significant difference between Africa during the colonial era and now (the post-colonial era).

The author scrapes Africa to its bare bones and brings Africa’s position in the Twenty-First Century to the fore. Though a great Continent and created Great on Creation Day, Africa now resembles a crumbling house where the owner and onlookers wobble to make away with what could be looted!

Africa might be gone forever if nothing is done.

This book is a clarion call on all Africans to rise. You need a copy to change the narratives!
