Serving God's Purpose in a Strange Land: Highlights and Insights from my NYSC experience

Embarking on my NYSC journey in the heart of Taraba State felt like stepping into uncharted territory, much like the biblical tales of individuals sent to strange lands. As a believer, I saw this as more than just a mandatory service year—it was a divine assignment.

It became evident that this was a golden opportunity to reach young people in my PPA and my community with the gospel, catching them early for Christ. Fellow corps members were not left out, living and working with them provided a platform to influence them for Christ.

NYSC year is a new season for a believer. It is post-university. A new grace is needed for the year. Seeking divine strength became paramount for navigating this uncharted chapter. I feel strongly that my experiences and learnings must be chronicled for others who find themselves in my shoes to get guiding lights for their journey. This is why I am writing this book.

There is a symbolic similarity between the NYSC experience and the believer's journey in the world. Just as we're sent to unfamiliar places during NYSC, believers often find themselves in a location and seek the right knowledge that'll help them thrive in God's purpose there.
