This book began in a one‑room apartment in Lagos, Nigeria.
Not the writing. The need.
My landlord, who had just increased my rent, made it clear: pay up or quit. At the same time, I was trying to apply to graduate school in the United States.
I didn’t know which schools I truly fit into. I didn’t know how to write a Statement of Purpose that sounded like me. I didn’t know how to present my CV and story without sounding generic.
So, I did what most people do.
I reused the same documents. I swapped school names. I hoped for the best.
The result?
Rejections. All of them.
Fast forward.
I eventually made it to the United States.
From the other side of the process, I finally understood what went wrong and what actually works.
That’s why I wrote this book.
Inside this book, you will learn how to:
Every chapter moves you from your thought of:
“I hope this works.” to “I know why I belong here.”
By the end of this book, you will know:
Where to apply, why you belong there, and how to tell your story
And you will stop asking if you are good enough.
Because you will finally know how to show it.
