FEET ON BROADWAYS

There’s a road many people walk that looks fun at first. It’s loud. It’s full of hype. It’s packed with people. The road seems like it leads somewhere exciting. At every turn, you hear people shouting, “this is the way to make it in life! Come along!” So, you follow. After all, who wants to be left behind?

That road is what I call Broadway. Not the one with theatres and musical plays in New York. I mean the road of life that looks wide, welcoming, and full of promise, but in the end, it leads to pain. It’s the path of wrong choices. It’s the journey of quick fixes, shortcuts, and careless living. It’s where many people end up because they didn’t stop to think before taking the first step.

The Bible paints a clear picture of this in Matthew 7:13-14. Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.” That verse hit me hard the first time I read it properly. Because truth be told, that’s what many of us are doing, we’re walking on a broad road, thinking it will lead to joy, but it’s leading to regret.

What’s scary is that most of the people on that road didn’t plan to end up there. They didn’t wake up and say, “Let me ruin my future today.” No. They just took a step in the wrong direction, sometimes out of pressure, sometimes out of ignorance, and sometimes because no one showed them a better option.
