Why did I create a Ramadhan Meal Plan?

In 2018, I fasted for the first time as a new muslim. I was a gym rat at this point and still had to lift weights, skip, do cardio, and other forms of exercise even while fasting.

It was easy, at first, but I soon started feeling parched after 4pm around Day 9-10 of Ramadhan.

Some people like to make Eba and soup for Sahur because they don't want to get hungry during the day but meals like this may make you sleepy and tired all day.

This meal plan has been curated such that you get all the nutrients your body needs to survive the day either actively or on autopilot.

I made sure that every Sahur and Iftar would:

  1. Keep you hydrated.
  2. Nourish your body.
  3. Build your immune system.
  4. Contain a balanced diet.
  5. Be very easy to prepare.
  6. Be familiar, everyday foods.
  7. Have affordable and easily accessible ingredients.
  8. Give you energy, bi idhnillah.

This is not just an accidental composition.

Every single meal and recipe is intentional.

It's a thousand naira today but it might not always be this affordable.

What if I want a meal plan after Ramadhan?

This meal plan is suitable for all times of the year. However, I made it for Ramadhan because it's the one time when we find it hardest to decide what to eat.

I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed curating it.
