About the Piece:

Recovery was born out of one of the hardest points in my art journey.

Midway through the year (2023), I had poured everything into my goals - my focus, my skill, my energy - but nothing seemed to move. I was tired. Not just physically, but emotionally worn.

This drawing was my way of fighting back.

The subject isn’t just a portrait. It’s a reflection of my soul. One that felt the cold void of disappointment, the silence that comes after trying everything and still coming up short.

But look again -

She may be still, but she isn’t surrendered.

Her gaze holds the resistance of someone choosing to rise, even if slowly.

This was the most detailed piece I had done at the time, created during a season of burnout.

Ironically - or maybe poetically - it was after this that things began to shift.

Sometimes, creation becomes recovery.

The piece was previously unreleased for sale until now.
