Reflections (Dying to Haste)

If you read the Scriptures, you will find that God can be frustratingly slow sometimes. He promises Abraham a son and then waits twenty-five years to deliver him.

He anoints David as King and then lets him run in the wilderness for over a decade. He tells the disciples He is coming back soon, and two thousand years later, we are still waiting.

God is not slow because He is lazy, nor is He slow because He is late. He is slow because He is eternal. He is slow because He is not building a shack but a Kingdom.

It is Volume 5 of the Reflections series, and in these pages, we are going to confront the idol of Haste.

We are going to explore the prophecy of Isaiah 28:16, which contains a promise that sounds almost contradictory to our modern ears: "He that believeth shall not make haste."

We will learn that haste is a form of unbelief, and it sets in when we don't trust the Foundation we are standing on.
