Here’s the thing: scientific research and writing are not like business and general writing. In scientific research and writing, there are ethical standards to be strictly adhered to, and every step has to be done with precision. Violating those standards or doubling down on precision is tantamount to committing academic fraud—losing one's integrity and authority as a researcher. So, for this reason, many researchers prefer to stay away from generative AI or hit back at it. Which is understandable.
No real researcher wants his/her work (manuscript) to sound AI-GENERATED.
But the real question is,
Is that all that generative AI can do?
As a scholar or researcher
As a researcher, I’ve been leveraging generative AI and refining how I leverage it for quite a while now. Testing different approaches and finding what works for researchers across the board.
What I have discovered is that the problem is not the AI tool we use but the framework and frame of mind by which we use the AI tools.
I get a lot done with high standards, and people around me wonder, How do I do it?'
On Sat., April 19, 2025, among other things, I’m teaching my CA² Framework at the Utilisation Lab Intensive:
Topic: Responsible Generative AI for Researchers: Harness Generative AI for Research Excellence and Career Advancement—No Tech Skills Required”
Time: 10am WAT.
Want to unlock the power of generative AI as a researcher to think smarter, work deeper, and advance with excellence?
