RÓTÌ: A TALE OF GOD'S PROVIDENCE & PRESENCE IN A STRANGE LAND (MY LAW SCHOOL MEMOIR)

10 years ago, on the 1st December 2015, I was on my way to Kano (my first time traveling to the North-West) to resume at the Nigerian Law School, four weeks late.

Seven years earlier in 2008, I had traveled to the North Central (Abuja-FCT) for the first time for a Secondary School Essay Competition, and already had an inkling of the region's harsh un-Southern weather.

At every turn, junction, bend, twist and milestone of my life, I have always been helped and held by the stories of others; how they achieved greatness, how they defied limitations and odds; and how they made themselves unforgettable enough for others who were not there to notice.

I documented my journey and my story in my quasi-fictional law school memoir titled "ROTI", my abridgement of OLUWAROTIMI, a Yoruba name meaning "God stayed/stood with me".

My Law School journey was a testament of God's providence and presence, and its exemplication in several forms through human helpers.

So I want to take a "gamble" today. I have had my law school memoir written between 2016-2017 with minor editions in between the years after. But it has never been mentioned or talked about in any of my posts, never before posted or published.

In the faint hope that my memoir will be that spark that lights someone's fire, whether today or in the distant future, I am convinced that it is time to release this story into the world, to do what the stories of others have done to me on my journey to greatness.
