About the Piece:

"Sanctuary" is an 11" x 14" graphite pencil drawing that is a part of my relationship-themed originals collection (a collection of pencil drawings that celebrate important life relationships). 

Sanctuary depicts and symbolizes the emotional safety that a mother's love provides, not just at birth but all through life. 

Coming from a more personal angle, my mom passed in 2012 while I was just 12, leaving a gap that took many years to close. This piece, represents for me what I miss, and for you and others, could be either a memorial or a representation or both.
