There is a sound in you that the world is waiting to hear. That is not a flattering line; it is a responsibility. When I preached this message originally, it came from a place of wrestling, of seeing ordinary people rise into extraordinary appointments. I want you to know, plainly and tenderly, that you were created to speak — to speak into your family, your workplace, your city, your generation. This book is an attempt to take that original sermon, to strip away the interruptions and the applause, and set down the core teaching in a form you can take home, read at night, and act upon the next morning. I AM A VOICE, I MUST BE HEARD A voice is different from noise. Noise is easy; it requires little sacrifice. A voice costs you something — time alone in the cave, discipline in the secret place, the willingness to be misunderstood. The Scriptures give us people who became voices because they learned to be quiet enough to hear, bold enough to speak, and faithful enough to hold on until God released them. We will walk together through biblical examples — John in the wilderness, Esther in the palace, Ruth at 8 Naomi’s side, Jesus in the temple at twelve — and we will pull out the pattern behind every voice God raised: separation, obedience, humility, persistent prayer and the willingness to risk everything for the moment God asks. We will also deal with the practical: how to find your voice, how to prepare it, what disciplines protect it, how to recover it when it seems lost. If you are reading this and you have ever felt small in the presence of giants, or silenced by family, by money, by shame, or by the noise of the world — know this: those pressures do not determine your calling. God’s call is not finally about your past mistakes or the loud opinions of others. It is about the breath of God on your life. When God breathes, something inert becomes animated. The task of these chapters is to help that breath find its way to your mouth, your mind, your decisions and your days. This book is arranged to be read in sequence, but it is also meant to be lived: read a chapter, live its practice, declare its truth, and then move on. I will not turn you into a public speaker by theory alone; I will press you into a life that produces a voice. We will remove repetition and distraction and keep what is essential: the instruction you need to step out and say, ―I am a voice; I must be heard.‖ The journey begins where every voice begins — in the secret place, where you die to lesser things and are born to greater purpose. Let us begin there.
