In psychology, "personality" refers to an individual's unique patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior that persist over time and across different situations. It is influenced by a combination of genetic, environmental, and cultural factors. Our personality shapes how we think, feel, and behave in different situations. Personality is often studied in psychology in order to understand how people differ from one another and how these differences can affect their behavior and their interactions with others.

There are three clusters and 10 types of personality disorder. One of the personality disorder is borderline personality disorder.

BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER

  1. These people are as unstable as a wave.
  2. Their emotions fluctuates. (A lady in this zone can say she loves you today, but tomorrow she will be confused if she truly loves you.) A man in this zone may profess his undying love for you today, but the next day he wonders if you still love him despite your commitment to him. It isn't all their fault; it's because of their personalities.
  3. Their self-image is not straight. They can be bipolar in nature. happy today and unhappy the next minute. Their mood fluctuates, ranging from a few hours to days. friendly today and become touchy tomorrow for no reason.
  4. Their sense of worth is shaking. She can see herself as a conqueror today, but tomorrow she will wake up feeling like a loser and a nobody.
  5. They have this frantic effort to avoid being rejected or abandoned. They always think someone will abandon them, and that is why their friendship status is not stable. You hardly see them having a bestie.
  6. They can be suicidal and self-mutilate. Take, for instance, how Sandra often threatens to take her own life for reasons you don't know. There are times you see her with healing wounds, and she will lie by saying she tripped or had a cut. But the truth is, she injured herself just because she thought she was not good enough. It worsens if no one cares and if there is no social support.
  7. There is this chronic feeling of emptiness. You hardly see them happy. always looking sad and morose.
  8. This zone is coupled with "intense anger and difficulty controlling it." They can get terribly angry over the slightest thing, and calming them or controlling the anger is like asking me to climb a 26-story building in two minutes.
  9. They are impulsive in areas like sex, spending (extravagant), substance use and abuse, and reckless driving. Most of the time, they do these things in an attempt to end the uncontrollable war within them.

Personality type and personality disorders significantly impacts an individual's functioning and well-being.
