PETROLEUM INDUSTRY ACT: AN OVERVIEW

This textbook is a summary of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA or Act) and regulations made pursuant to the Act. The PIA is the legal framework for the Nigerian Petroleum Industry and its provisions were explained in detail in this book. The PIA created efficient and effective governing institutions; commercially oriented and profit-driven national petroleum company; and conducive business environment for petroleum operations. The Act promotes transparency and sustainable investment, amongst others. 

This book will enhance stakeholders’ understanding of the PIA and will enable investors as well as potential investors to appreciate the positive impact of the PIA on their investments and the need to invest in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry, respectively.
