The Electricity Act 2023 in Nigeria introduces significant reforms to the power sector. Key highlights include prioritizing infrastructure development, implementing cost-reflective tariffs, recognizing state participation in electricity lawmaking, promoting renewable energy integration, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders through the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, etc. 

The Act whilst commendable also instigates key issues for the respective stakeholders in the electricity industry, given the transition to novel electricity market structures, which has implications for the entire value chain of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
