I hope that you use Messily Living during your therapy sessions to pull from while speaking with your therapist or document what you’ve learned, hand in hand with your daily journal in between sessions and in the long term, use it to reflect on your journey.
Messily living is about meeting you where you are, not where you are perfect. It is about allowing you to be as complicated as you allow yourself to be. It is a reminder that healing is repetitive so if you talk about a subject more than once, that’s ok. If you feel numb or angry (even at your therapist), that’s ok, it is hoping that you don’t avoid yourself, or your therapist's session. Let this book be a container of all you are learning about yourself, a map, a documentation of your journey, not one of shame, but one of radical acceptance.
