ISBN ACQUISITION

One of the worst mistake you can make as a new writer looking to get published is to release a book without an ISBN.

ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. This is a unique 13 digit number that helps readers all over the world easily identify with your book and can actually reference your book. It is a unique number assigned to your book for easy cataloguing and referencing.

Releasing a book without an ISBN is almost like releasing a content without a copyright. Your book can't be traced to your name, it can be easily pirated and if someone puts an ISBN to the content before you do, he or she becomes the legal owner of the book and you can be sued for your book.

A lot of newbie writers make this mistake of publishing without an isbn all in the name of self publishing. worst, some of them buy ISBN from vanity publishers who just make up numbers and paste it at the back of the book.
