"I never knew my father. He died before I was born. But he never left me."
"The Son of Ude" is a powerful Nigerian family saga that follows three generations of a family torn apart by tragedy, betrayal, and the Nigerian Civil War. It is a story of a mother's fierce love, a father's unfulfilled dreams, and a son's journey to reclaim his inheritance.
The Story:
Ude is a poor village boy from Nnewi who loses everything in the war. He is sent to Kano to serve a master, where he rises from poverty to become a successful businessman. But tragedy strikes when he dies in an accident, leaving behind his pregnant wife, Nneka, and his unborn son, Ifeanyi.
Nneka, a widow, fights to raise her son alone. But her husband's family—the umunna—take everything from her. She is left with nothing but her child and her faith.
Years later, Ifeanyi grows into a man determined to reclaim his father's legacy. He falls in love with Amina, a Hausa girl, but their love is threatened by family opposition, tribal divides, and religious differences.
Ifeanyi moves to Lagos for his NYSC, where he faces new struggles—poverty, loneliness, and the weight of his father's memory. But he refuses to give up. He meets Onyi, a kind and loving Igbo woman, and together, they build a new legacy.
"The Son of Ude" is a story of love, betrayal, forgiveness, and redemption. It captures the Nigerian hustle, the pain of loss, and the power of family unity.
