Target Audience: New to intermediate users
Goal: Understand and apply ClickUp’s core features to manage personal and team productivity.
Introduction to ClickUp & Workspace Organization
Topics Covered:
- Overview of ClickUp interface and terminology
- Workspace hierarchy: Workspace > Spaces > Folders > Lists > Tasks
- Creating Spaces and customizing settings
- Folder and List creation for organizing projects
- Task creation and essential properties (status, assignee, priority, due dates)
Assignment:
- Create a Space called “ClickUp Training”
- Inside the space, create a Folder named “Week 1 Tasks”
- Create two Lists: Personal Goals and Team Projects
- Add 5 tasks across the two lists with custom statuses, assignees, and due dates
- Share the Space with the trainer (guest or member access)
Task Management & Views
Topics Covered:
- Task details and subtasks
- Checklists, comments, attachments, and dependencies
- Using different views: List, Board, Calendar, Gantt, and Timeline
- Sorting and filtering tasks
- Task reminders and recurring tasks
Assignment:
- Add subtasks and checklists to 2 tasks created
- Set up dependencies between tasks
- View your tasks in at least 3 different views (Board, Calendar, and Gantt)
- Take a screenshot of each view and upload them to a new task called “View Practice”
- Share the task with your trainer
Custom Fields, Docs & Collaboration
Topics Covered:
- Creating and applying custom fields (dropdowns, numbers, labels, etc.)
- Using Docs in ClickUp for internal documentation
- Task and list-level comments, mentions, and real-time collaboration
- Assigning comments and action items
Assignment:
- Create 3 custom fields and apply them to your “Team Projects” list
- Create a ClickUp Doc titled “Project Notes” and link it to your Folder
- Add 2 comments to different tasks and assign them to yourself or a peer
- Use @mentions and resolve a comment
- Share the Doc with the trainer
Time Management, Goals & Automations
Topics Covered:
- Time tracking and time estimates
- Goals and Targets in ClickUp
- Creating Automations for task status changes, due dates, or assignees
- Creating dashboards for overview and tracking progress
Assignment:
- Enable and track time for 3 tasks from your lists
- Create a Goal named “Weekly Progress” with 2 measurable targets
- Set up an automation that changes the task status when a due date is reached
- Create a simple dashboard that tracks task statuses and time spent
- Share the dashboard and goal with the trainer
Integration, Templates & Final Project
Topics Covered:
- Integrating with Google Calendar, Slack, Zoom, or email
- Using and creating templates for tasks, lists, or Docs
- Final project setup using all ClickUp features learned
- Sharing, exporting, and presenting your workspace
Final Assignment:
- Create a new Folder called “Final Project”
- Inside it, create:
- One List with at least 5 interdependent tasks
- Custom fields applied
- At least one task with time tracking and a checklist
- An automation
- A ClickUp Doc summarizing your project
- Set up a Goal related to the project
- Create a dashboard to visualize your progress
- Share the Folder, Doc, Goal, and Dashboard with the trainer (edit access)

- Overview of ClickUp Brain capabilities
- Using AI to summarize tasks, comments, and Docs
- AI-assisted writing for task descriptions and documentation
- Generating action items from conversations
ClickUp Agents
- What ClickUp Agents are and how they differ from automations
- Configuring Agents to monitor lists and workspaces
- Setting triggers and instructions for Agents
- Using Agents for:
- Status updates
- Task creation
- Content drafting
- Progress monitoring
- Workflow enforcement
ClickUp Super Agents
- Understanding Super Agents (multi-step AI workflows)
- Combining AI + Automations + Dashboards
- Use cases:

Assignment:
- Create one ClickUp Agent that:
- Automatically creates a task when a new Doc is added to a Folder
- Or summarizes tasks daily into a Doc
- Create one Super Agent workflow that:
- Collects weekly completed tasks
- Generates a performance summary
- Posts it into a ClickUp Doc or comment thread
- Share the Agent configuration and output with the trainer
