ÈLÀLÒRÒ

Source & Light of Yorubas in Christendom

First published and officially launched in Ile-Ife, the cradle of the Yoruba race, in 2018.

Do You Really Know the Difference Between Àṣà, Ìṣe, and Ẹ̀sìn?

This is one of the greatest misunderstandings among many Yoruba people today.

Many people have been made to believe that once you talk about Yoruba culture, you are talking about traditional religion. But that is not completely true.

Àṣà is not Ẹ̀sìn. Culture is not religion.

Because traditional religion has become the loudest voice promoting Yoruba heritage, many Yoruba Christians and Muslims now assume that everything connected to Yoruba culture belongs to idol worship. This misconception has caused many people to reject their own language, customs, history, and identity.

ÈLÀLÒRÒ takes you on a journey into the roots and origin of the Yoruba people. It carefully distinguishes Àṣà (Culture), Ìṣe (Customs), and Ẹ̀sìn (Religion) while examining the historical relationship between Yoruba Traditional Religion, Islam, and Christianity from their origins.

Inside this book, you will discover:

The origin and history of the Yoruba people.
The difference between culture, customs, and religion.
The relationship between Yoruba Traditional Religion, Islam, and Christianity.
The historical development of religion and worship in Yorubaland.
The influence of Yoruba culture on Christian practices.
The historical discussion of Èlà in the Ifá corpus.
Hidden truths and overlooked facts about Yoruba history and identity.

This book is not written to promote any idol worshipping or attack any religion. It is written to educate, enlighten, and help readers distinguish between cultural heritage and religious practice.

If you desire to understand the true roots of the Yoruba people and appreciate your heritage with knowledge rather than assumption, ÈLÀ LÒRÒ is a book you should not miss.

Read it. Reflect on it. Share it. Know the truth.
