For a really long time, I could describe everyone else's emotions better than my own. I knew when someone I loved was hurting.

I knew when someone needed comfort. I knew how to show up for other people.

But when someone asked me how I was doing, my answers were usually, "I'm fine." "I'm tired." "I'm stressed."

Looking back, I wasn't incapable of feeling. I just didn't have the language.

And that is why I wrote this book.

You have spent years learning how to control your emotions. But who taught you how to understand them?

Maybe you learned to swallow your anger because being upset made you "difficult."

Maybe you learned to hide your sadness because you didn't want to burden anyone.

Maybe you learned to say "I'm fine" even when something inside you was asking to be heard.

Many women have been taught how to be acceptable before they were taught how to be honest with themselves.

But your emotions were never your enemy. They were always trying to tell you something.

This book is for you if...

Permission to Feel, Freedom to Live is an invitation to come back to yourself.

Inside these pages, you are going to understand the emotional world you have always carried but may never have been taught how to navigate.

Together, we will explore the emotions we welcome, the ones we hide, and the ones we judge ourselves for having. This book will help you:

Understand what emotions are and why they exist.
Find words beyond "fine," "tired," and "stressed" to describe what you truly feel.
Build a healthier relationship with fear, anger, sadness, shame, joy, and everything in between.
Understand how your body, relationships, experiences, and environment shape your emotions.
Learn how to feel deeply without allowing your emotions to consume you.
Become more compassionate toward yourself and the woman you are becoming.

Your emotions have always been a part of your story. This book is your invitation to finally understand them.
