‘Shut up young woman abi man! You’re disturbing the serenity of this environment. What is wrong with you? Do you think that you’re the only one interested in finding a way to leave this god-forsaken building? We’ve tried all your suggestions but none of them worked. Get out of that place before I spend the last ounce of strength in me to crack you down.’ He barked.

‘We all have families too; in case you were not aware. Nonsense!’ He yelled.

‘You see old man, were it not that I respect the few grey threads on that bald skull, I’d have smacked you like a child,’ Chika retorted.

‘I’ve been respectful all my life and worked hard to be where I am now, with people like you under me. So, you best believe that if I hear one more insult from you, I won’t mind folding this garment of respect to deal with your old behind.’ She thundered.

‘And by the way, I’m a woman, a wife and a mother. Better watch it boy.’ she concluded as she picked up her pen and continued to unravel the code.

A much-solicited silence suddenly walked into the room, with everyone gazing at each other as if waiting for the silence to speak.

'Room 39: A secret worth dying for; a love worth killing for' takes us on a beautiful tour that frightens us at the beginning, calms our nerves immediately after, but glues our fingers to the rails until the end.

When you think that you can predict the outcome, she tells you, “Wait, there's more to explore."

And just when you feel evil has triumphed, then comes the good smiling back with the last laugh.

A well-crafted novel that will keep you in suspense till the last paragraph. I ask, "how can one person write so well?"

When you think of a fictional thriller that takes you from the basest level of human exploitation to the basic expression of unconditional love among humans;

When you think of a perfect narration that explores individualism and the potency of togetherness;

When you want to read a book that contrasts unfettered evil and ethereal forgiveness; you just need to pick up this book and gulp down every line from start to finish.

That's how italicious Room 39 is.

'Room 39: A secret worth dying for; a love worth killing for' is more than fiction; it is more than a crime thriller that you have read. It is beautifully crafted with subtle lessons in each chapter.

Suitable for people of any age group and level of English comprehension. Beautifully painted scenes that have a mix of ancient and modern cities with a touch of Italian, Igbo, and another foreign language that you'll certainly enjoy.
