DON'T FIX ME... HEAR ME

My Stammering Journey: From Shame to Confidence

This book is my heartbeat in words.

A love letter to imperfection.

I didn't write this book because I had everything figured out. I wrote it because I once believed my voice was broken.

Every word I tried to say came out differently, and the world made sure I knew it.

People laughed.

People mocked.

People offered advice.

People tried to "fix" me.

But what I really needed was someone willing to listen.

There were days when I couldn't say a single word without fear.

Days when I felt invisible in conversations moving too fast for my voice to catch up.

Days when I wished I could trade my silence for someone else's fluency.

But over time, I discovered something powerful:

Even a trembling voice can move hearts.

Being real is louder than being perfect.

And sometimes, the thing you are most ashamed of becomes the message someone else desperately needs to hear.

This isn't a story about being cured.

It's a story about being heard.

It's about learning to love the sound of your own voice, even when it shakes.

It's about stopping the fight against what was never broken.

But this book isn't only for people who stammer.

It's for anyone who has ever felt different.

Anyone who has ever compared themselves to others.

Anyone who has ever felt behind in life.

Anyone who has ever hidden parts of themselves just to fit in.

For years, I tried to be like everyone else.

I tried to speak like others.

Think like others.

Create like others.

Dream like others.

And in the process, I started losing myself.

This book became my journey back home.

Back to my voice.

Back to my truth.

Back to myself.

Inside these pages, you'll discover stories of fear, shame, courage, acceptance, purpose, and the freedom that comes from finally embracing who you are.

You might laugh.

You might reflect.

You might even cry.

But more than anything, I hope you'll remember this:

You don't have to sound like anyone else to be heard.

You don't have to be perfect to be powerful.

And your story—exactly as it is—matters.

If you've ever felt unseen, unheard, or unworthy, this book was written for you.

Because you are not broken.

You never were.

And maybe, just maybe, these pages will help you hear your own voice again.
