This ebook “How to Conduct a Bank Statement Forensic Audit,” provides a broad overview of bank statement forensic audit methodologies. The book focuses on the ability of readers to learn how to analyze financial records and detect irregularities in bank statements. The book presents a practical guide on bank statement forensic audit specifically for individuals, businesses, bankers, auditors, in-house accountants, financial analysts, investigators, compliance officers, accounting and banking students, and anyone interested in bank statement forensic audit. Empirical facts have shown that banks globally, including Nigeria, either erroneously or deliberately short-pay customers, contrary to agreed interests on placements/daily balance/Fixed Deposits, etc, or overcharge customers on loan facilities. Some banks also do not strictly adhere to various recommendations prescribed by the Central Bank of Nigeria in the Guide to Bank Charges. These practices are unethical, and organizations usually lose millions, if not billions, of naira yearly due to the unethical banking practice without even knowing it since they do not know how banks arrive at the figures they are credited or debited with. On the other hand, some banks declare huge profits after tax to the detriment of their customers.

The expected learning outcome for this book includes the development of the following skills for individuals, bankers, auditors, and businesses:

• Understand how banks calculate interest rates on various types of placements or deposits

• Understand how Banks calculate interest on loan facilities

• Understand how to quickly spot bank errors or deliberate fraud on bank account statement

• Understand the process of writing a bank statement forensic audit report
