If you weren’t at Creator’s Cafe, here’s what you missed: Selar just made it official that your wins will no longer go unnoticed. We unveiled something close to our hearts that we’ve been working on for a while: our Milestone Plaque. It took time, and that was intentional.

A little backstory

When Douglas, Founder at Selar, first brought the idea to the team, he was clear about one thing: he didn’t want just another plaque.

“The creators we have today work very hard, and whatever we give them to recognise their growth at Selar needs to come with a lot of intention,” he said.

So he brought in two artists to help bring that intention to life, visual storyteller Tobi Ayegbusi and digital artist Anthony Azekwoh.

It was an intense journey of over six months, with many iterations: should it be a statue, a plant sculpture, or an African-inspired figure? They finally chose a coin. It’s simple, but rich in meaning.

Tobi’s approach to the design was recognition, and he translated it into flowers.

According to him, “Many people don’t get their flowers until probably they’re in the grave or on a sickbed,”

So that idea became the coin’s soul.

The Milestone Plaque Comes in Five Tiers

Each tier marks a different stage in a creator’s journey on Selar:

• Tier 1: $10,000 in sales
• Tier 2: $50,000 in sales
• Tier 3: $100,000 in sales
• Tier 4: $250,000 in sales
• Tier 5: $500,000 in sales

Each tier is more than just a number. It represents the choices you made, the products you created, the customers you helped, and the days you kept going even when things were tough.

What this means for you

It means all your achievements, which were celebrated quietly and out of sight, will no longer be. The Milestone Coin changes that. It makes your journey real and gives you something to hold on to, also reminding you of both what you earned and all the effort it took.

Anthony put it plainly: “Every creative deserves their flowers.”
