You're a ghostwriter. But are you running your ghostwriting business like one?

You know how to write. You can capture someone's voice, turn scattered ideas into thoughtful content, and deliver work that sounds like the person behind the words.

But what happens when a potential client asks about your rates and you aren't quite sure how to present them?

What do you say when a client keeps requesting revisions that were never part of the original agreement?

How do you handle a discovery call, communicate your process, send an invoice, or follow up when a client hasn't paid?

And what happens when you land a project but realise you have no proper system for managing it?

These are not writing problems. They are business problems.

The Ghostwriter's Client Vault was created to help you handle them with more clarity, confidence and professionalism.

BEING A GOOD WRITER IS ONLY PART OF THE JOB.

One of the biggest misconceptions about ghostwriting is that strong writing is all it takes to build a successful business.

It isn't.

You can be an excellent writer and still struggle to manage clients. You can produce brilliant content and still find yourself dealing with unclear expectations, endless revisions, delayed payments and projects that become more complicated than they should have been.

Perhaps you've experienced some of these situations:

A client approaches you, but you don't have a structured process for understanding what they need.
You struggle to explain your services and pricing professionally.
You agree to a project without clearly defining the deliverables, deadlines or revision limits.
You find discovery calls uncomfortable because you don't know what questions to ask.
A client requests additional work, and you aren't sure how to communicate that it falls outside the original agreement.
You have difficulty following up on outstanding payments without feeling awkward.
You finish a project but don't have a proper process for requesting testimonials, referrals or repeat work.

If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

Many ghostwriters spend time improving their writing skills but overlook the systems that make running a freelance business easier.

You don't just need to become a better writer. You need a better way to run your writing business.

THE GHOSTWRITER'S CLIENT VAULT

A practical collection of client-facing documents, templates, scripts and resources designed to help you manage the business side of ghostwriting.

Whether you're preparing to land your first client, trying to improve your existing workflow or looking for a more professional way to manage client relationships, this Vault gives you practical starting points you can adapt to your business.

Inside, you'll find:

14 editable client-facing templates and resources.
A practical guide to finding your first ghostwriting clients.
A step-by-step workflow showing you when and how to use each document.
A bonus guide covering 11 common mistakes that cost ghostwriters clients, income and confidence.

Everything is organised around the natural lifecycle of a client relationship, so you're not left wondering which document to use or when to use it.

Instead of starting from scratch every time a client approaches you, you'll have a collection of resources to help you handle the process more professionally.

WHAT'S INSIDE THE VAULT?

1. A GUIDE TO FINDING YOUR FIRST GHOSTWRITING CLIENTS

Before you can manage a client, you need to find one.

This section takes you through practical channels for finding potential clients, including freelance platforms, LinkedIn, direct outreach, referrals and niche communities.

You'll also learn why relying on a single client acquisition channel can limit your opportunities and how to approach finding clients as an ongoing part of your business.

It's a useful starting point if you're still trying to build your client pipeline.

2. CLIENT ATTRACTION AND SCREENING TEMPLATES

Not every prospective client is the right client.

Before committing to a project, you need to understand what the client wants, what they expect from you and whether the working relationship makes sense.

These resources help you approach that process with more structure.

Inside this section:

Client Intake Form: Gather important information about a prospective client's project, goals, audience, content requirements, brand voice, timeline and budget.
Ghostwriting Discovery Call Script: Guide your discovery conversations with relevant questions instead of trying to figure everything out as you go.
Red Flag Client Screening Checklist: Identify potential warning signs before committing to a working relationship.

3. PRICING, PROPOSALS AND AGREEMENTS

How you present your services matters.

You need to communicate your pricing, define what a client is paying for and establish expectations before work begins.

This section helps you approach those conversations with greater confidence.

Inside this section:

Rate Card and Pricing Guide: A practical resource to help you think through and present your service rates.
Ghostwriting Proposal Template: Present your understanding of the project, proposed deliverables, pricing and working arrangements professionally.
Ghostwriting Services Agreement: A sample agreement that helps you put important project terms, responsibilities and expectations in writing.

No more relying entirely on scattered messages to remember what you and a client agreed.

4. CLIENT ONBOARDING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Getting hired is one thing. Starting a project properly is another.

Once a client agrees to work with you, you need a process that helps both of you understand what happens next.

This section helps you create a more organised onboarding experience.

Inside this section:

Welcome and Onboarding Email Template: Send a professional welcome message that introduces the next steps and explains what the client needs to do.
Client Onboarding Checklist: Keep track of the important things that should be completed before and during the early stages of a project.
Content Brief Template: Gather the information you need to create content that aligns with the client's goals, target audience and brand voice.

5. REVISION AND FEEDBACK MANAGEMENT

Feedback is part of ghostwriting. But vague feedback can make the process unnecessarily frustrating.

When a client says, "Can you make this better?" you need a way to understand what they actually mean.

The Revision Request Form helps turn general feedback into specific, actionable instructions you can work with.

It also gives you a more structured way to handle revisions rather than relying on unclear messages and repeated back-and-forth conversations.

6. INVOICING AND PAYMENT FOLLOW-UPS

Getting paid should be part of your professional process, not an uncomfortable afterthought.

Whether you're sending your first invoice or following up on an outstanding payment, having the right communication in place makes a difference.

Inside this section:

Freelance Invoice Template: Present your payment details and project charges in a clear, professional format.
Late Payment Follow-Up Email Sequence: Have ready-to-adapt messages for following up when a client hasn't paid by the agreed date.

You won't have to keep wondering how to word that payment reminder.

7. PROJECT COMPLETION AND CLIENT RETENTION

Your relationship with a client doesn't have to end the moment you submit the final draft.

A completed project can create opportunities for testimonials, referrals, case studies and future bookings.

The Project Completion and Testimonial Request Template helps you close projects professionally, request feedback and make it easier for satisfied clients to recommend your services.

Because building a sustainable ghostwriting business isn't only about finding new clients. It's also about creating good working relationships that can continue.

AND THERE'S A BONUS INSIDE!

THE GHOSTWRITER'S PLAYBOOK

Eleven Mistakes That Cost Ghostwriters Clients, Income, and Confidence, and How to Avoid Them.

Being a good writer doesn't automatically make you good at managing a ghostwriting business.

Sometimes, the things that cost you clients or money have very little to do with your writing ability.

They are the mistakes you make when expectations aren't clear, communication breaks down, boundaries are missing or you accept working arrangements that leave you overworked and underpaid.

That's what this bonus guide addresses.

The Ghostwriter's Playbook explores 11 common mistakes freelance ghostwriters make when working with clients and offers practical advice on how to avoid them.

One of the mistakes it examines is starting work without a clear scope, a situation that can lead to additional deliverables, unpaid work and disagreements about what was originally agreed.

The guide also explores the wider challenges of managing client relationships, protecting your income, setting boundaries and approaching your work professionally.

Whether you're just starting out or have already worked with several clients, these are lessons worth understanding.

Consider it a collection of lessons you don't have to learn entirely through trial and error.

HERE'S HOW EVERYTHING WORKS TOGETHER

The Vault isn't a random collection of documents. Its resources follow the natural progression of a ghostwriting client relationship.

STAGE 4: ONBOARD AND CREATE

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

I'm Felicity Nwajiuba, a freelance ghostwriter and content strategist.

Over time, I've worked on different forms of writing, including nonfiction books, SEO articles, LinkedIn content and website copy.

But one thing I've learnt is that the writing itself is only one part of the work.

There are discovery calls to prepare for, proposals to send, project expectations to clarify, clients to onboard, revisions to manage and payments to follow up on.

I've experienced the frustration of unclear briefs, scope creep, awkward payment conversations and discovery calls where having a proper structure would have made things easier.

I created The Ghostwriter's Client Vault because I wanted a practical collection of resources that could make these parts of the business less complicated.

Not another conversation about why ghostwriting is a great career, but actual documents and tools you can adapt and use in your work.

I hope that this Vault helps you spend less time figuring out what to say or which document to create and more time doing the work you enjoy.

Because you are more than a writer.

You are a business owner.
